CReMEC
Oncodesign is involved in the "Medicen"
Paris Biocluster, focused on therapeutic innovation, being the leader
of the CReMEC project: a new resource center of experimental cancer
models.
In addition to Oncodesign, this project includes the following partners:
- 3 pharmaceutical companies (Institut de Recherche Servier, Ipsen and sanofi-aventis)
- various French institutions (Public Assistance and Paris Hospitals, Curie Institute, Gustave Roussy Institute, Cochin Institute, University Paris VII, INSERM, CNRS…)
In order to improve preclinical research, this project aims to:
- Establish
a single database of the animal models developed by the project's
partners. This database will enable researchers to know where to find a
specific model and the characteristics of this model.
- Create
new rodent models from primary tumors or transgenic mice. The first
developed indication will be colon tumors. This part of the CReMEC
project involves surgical partners in three different clinical centres
who will initiate the development of primary xenografted models which
are more representative of human disease.
- Study the transplantation factors that are involved in the tumor take of human tumors xenografted in rodents.
This
French Project represents a total budget of 5 million euros and aims to
evolve as a European cluster of therapeutic innovation by 2010.
